Marathon, also known as Marathon Marketing, has been in business in Tucson for nearly twenty years. From its origin as a sports marketing company, representing the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour stops in Tucson, the company has grown under the leadership of president, Sue Brooks, to fill a special niche for a variety of non-profits. Marathon works with these very special clients (Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson, Ronald McDonald House, etc) to manage existing events or create new concepts with the goal of raising funds and awareness.
For the corporate world, Marathon has very successfully sold sponsorships to local, regional and national companies looking for unique and innovative ways to make an impact on the community through a variety of events.
Marathon’s sales and event experience spans the world of motorsports (ChampCar, Formula One), professional golf (Tucson Chrysler Classic, PGA Tour; Office Depot Championship at Trump National Golf Club and Welch’s Fry’s Championship, LPGA Tour events); college football bowl games (Weiser Lock Copper Bowl, Insight Bowl, Fiesta Bowl); Davis Monthan Air Force Air Shows; and a number of charity golf events (Circle K Sean Elliott Charity Golf Classic, Steve Kerr’s Wildcat Dream Invitational).
"Having run events for years, I know how many details are involved. That thing (the Office Depot Championship) was run like a swiss watch! Thanks for all the hospitality and congratulations on everything. Your team did amazing things!"

"Thank you and your entire staff for your efforts in helping make Aerospace & Arizona Days 2005 such a resounding success. Activities of this scale do not just happen; people make it happen through teamwork, dedication and extraordinary effort. Marathon/MVPWest team directly contributed to the A & A Days Team mission success: outstanding community relations, demonstration of USAF capabilities and increased unit morale. This was the best airshow I've ever seen in my life and I hope we may continue the relationship in the future. It is truly an honor to have you all associated with the airshow and the Desert Lightning 355th Wing!"
- Colonel Michael Spencer, USAF
